Make Chips.

Homemade chips are a main ingredient in Mexican chiliques dishes. They are quick and easy to prepare and a great way to use leftover tortillas.

  How to cut tortillas for making chips. 1. Stack three or four tortillas on a clean working surface and cut into strips.  
  How to cut strips into cubes for making tortilla chips. 2. Cut the strips into cubes.  
  3. Pour 1/2 inch of oil into a large, heavy-bottomed skillet and heat over a medium-high flame until almost smoking.

Working in batches, place the cut tortillas in to the hot oil.
  How to fry tortilla chips until crisp. 4. Fry the chips until crisp. Stir them frequently to promote an even color and prevent burning.  
  How to drain tortilla chips. 5. Place the chips on paper towels to drain as they are finished.
