HOW TO
Core and Peel Apples

A vegetable peeler, paring knife—and a bit of lemon juice is all you need to prepare apples for all your pies, cakes, crumbles, and family recipes.

  1. Remove the stem by inserting a sharp paring knife or peeler into the center of the apple and cutting around it. Pull out the stem and discard.

2. Remove the skin with an apple peeler or paring knife. Starting at the top, rotate the apple against the blade until you've removed all of the peel.

  3. Cut the apple in half.

  4. Cut the halves into quarters and remove the core and seeds.

  5. Cut the quartered sections into even slices.

6.) Sprits the apples with fresh lemon and toss them to prevent browning.
