A medium-sized serrated knife is the best tool for this job. Cutting away the peel in narrow strips minimizes waste.
1.Place the pineapple on its side and slice away the top and bottom.
2.
Stand the fruit upright and slice away a narrow strip of the peel. Work from top to bottom, holding your knife nearly parallel to the surface of the fruit and following the natural curve of the pineapple.
3.Turn the fruit slightly and slice away another strip of peel. Repeat until all of the peel is removed.
4.
Use the tip of your knife to cut away any deep-rooted spikes that remain on the surface of the pineapple.
5.
Slice through the fruit from top to bottom, just to one side of the core.
6.
Repeat as above, slicing away the fruit on the other side of the core.
7.
Slice away the remaining fruit on either side of the core; discard core.
8.
Cut the fruit into slices or chunks.
