Agua de Sandia

Mexican Watermelon Water
Drink Recipe

Imagine the bright hue and sweet flavor of watermelon, captured in a cooling drink. Just add a hammock (and a splash of vodka?) and you’re set!

Serves 16
Ingredients
4 cups cubed watermelon, seeds removed
12 cups watermelon juice and water
1–11/2 cups sugar
~ lime slices or mint sprigs for decoration
Directions
  1. Working in batches, combine 2 cups of watermelon and 2 cups of watermelon juice in the blender, cover and puree. Pour into a large pitcher and repeat one more times.
  2. Stir in the remaining juice and or water and the sugar, adjusting sweetness to your taste.
  3. Chill for 2–4 hours.
  4. Pour the agua de sandia into tall glasses and decorate with lime slices or sprigs of mint.
Preparation Time: 
About 20 minutes, plus 2-4 hours to chill.
