Christmas Wreaths Cookies

A delightfully retro recipe that’s still as addictive as ever!

Ingredients
Serves 2–3 dozen
1/2 cup butter
3 cups mini marshmallows
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon green food coloring
4 cups corn flakes
~   red hots or red m&m’s
     
 
 
Directions 
 
  1. In a large saucepan melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. Add the marshmallows and stir until melted and smooth.

  3. Remove from the heat and add the almond and vanilla extracts and food coloring, stirring until mixture is an even, bright green.

  4. Gently stir in the cornflakes, coating to combine. Be careful not to crush the flakes.

  5. Form into wreath shapes on waxed paper—lightly buttering your hands first allows for easy shaping.

  6. Decorate the wreaths with red hots or m&m’s.

  7. Cool completely and store at room temperature in a tightly covered container.
