Blood Orange Sorbet

If you can squeeze an orange, you can prepare this elegant, colorful dessert. Dress it up with a sprig of mint and a splash of Cointreau if you like.

Ingredients
Serves 3 1/2 cups
1 1/2 cups Simple Syrup
2 cups freshly squeezed blood orange juice, strained
1   lemon, juiced
     
     
     
 
 
Directions 
 
  1. Combine the Simple Syrup, orange and lemon juice and chill for several hours in the fridge.
  2. Process the mixture in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  3. Place the finished sorbet in a container and freeze for 8 hours or overnight.
  4. Remove the sorbet from the freezer 10 minutes before serving.

 

 

Preparation time: 45 minutes plus 8+ hours downtime.
