O'Reilly's
Holy Grail Restaurant:
A Visual and Culinary Feast
You might call O’Reilly’s Holy Grail a seafood restaurant, but such a description misses the point. Housed in an architectural gem that dates back to the early 1900’s, The Holy Grail is a veritable shrine to the culinary and cultural history that makes San Francisco a globally-acclaimed destination.
In creating The Holy Grail, owner Myles O’Reilly took inspiration from the long and rich San Francisco oyster bar tradition, and also from his own passion for all things Irish. The Holy Grail is both an artistic showcase and a celebrated eatery, featuring spectacular stained glass work from famed Irish craftsman Harry Clark. For those not content to feast with the eyes alone (and who would be?), the Holy Grail serves an exquisite selection of seafood and chop house favorites including, of course, oysters in abundance.
The saying goes that there are two kinds of people in the world: those who are Irish, and those who wish they were. Both camps are certain to be satisfied by a visit to this one-of-a-kind San Francisco treasure.
This month, Beyond Wonderful is proud to welcome O'Reilly's Holy Grail Executive Chef Seán Canavan as our contributing guest chef.

French Onion
Soup Recipe
I take a little liberty with my “French” onion soup, adding parmesan cheese rather than the typical gruyere. I also call for more onions than most, to make sure that every spoonful has plenty of flavor and texture.
