Send your taste buds skipping back to childhood with fresh homemade lemonade. Of course squeezing your own lemons takes a little extra time, but isn’t slowing down a bit what summer’s all about?
3 1/2 | cups | water |
1 | cup | freshly squeezed lemon juice* |
1 | lemon, sliced thinly | |
½–1 | cup | granulated sugar |
* 4 to 6 large lemons. |
1. Strain the lemon juice into a large pitcher. Discard the pulp and seeds.
2. Add the water and 1/2 cup of sugar and mix until the sugar dissolves.
3. Taste and adjust sugar as needed, keeping in mind that lemonade will taste a bit more tart when ice cold.
4. Add the sliced lemon, cover the pitcher with plastic wrap and refrigerate until cold.
