
From American lemonade to Indian mango lassi, refreshing summer fruit drinks are popular the world over. In Mexico, fruit “water” such as this recipe is a favorite way to use up overripe produce.



1 | ripe cantaloupe, peeled, seeded and diced | |
3/4 | cup | sugar |
6 | cups | water |
~ | ice cubes | |
~ | lime slices for garnish |
1. Place the cantaloupe, sugar, and 1 cup of water in the blender and liquefy.
2. Pour the liquid through a wire mesh strainer set over a spacious mixing bowl; discard the solids.
3. Stir the remaining water into the fruity liquid.
4. Pour the Agua de Melon into a pitcher, add ice, and stir. Garnish individual glasses with lime slices.
