Try this as a refreshing alternative to lemonade on a hot summer day.
1 | ripe fresh pineapple, peeled, cored, and cubed | |
1 | cup | sugar |
6 | cups | water |
~ | ice cubes | |
~ | lime slices or mint leaves for garnish | |
1. Place the pineapple cubes, sugar, and 1 cup of water in a blender and liquefy.
2. Pour the liquid through a wire mesh strainer set over a spacious mixing bowl; discard the pulp and seeds.
3. Add the remaining water to the bowl and mix well.
4. Pour the Agua de pina into a pitcher and chill in the refrigerator for several hours. (Or, serve immediately over ice, garnished with lime slices or mint leaves.
