Ensalade Elegante: Apple Salad Recipe

My dear friend Yolanda swears by this simple, appealing salad for potlucks parties. Preparing it a few hours ahead gives the flavors a chance to develop.

Ingredients

1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups sour cream
5 medium red apples, cored and diced
1 20-ounce can pineapple chunks, drained *
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup pecan halves
*Do not use crushed pineapple in this salad.

Directions
  1. Mix the condensed milk and sour cream together until blended.
  2. Stir in the apples, pineapple and chopped pecans.
  3. Chill for several hours in the refrigerator.
  4. Remove from the refrigerator and sprinkle with the pecan halves before serving.

Preparation Time: 
approximately 10 minutes plus several hours chilling time.
