Parmesan and sesame seeds lend a delicious toasty note to traditional garlic bread. Try these as an easy hors d’oeuvre, or serve them in a bread basket alongside meat or poultry.
1 | loaf | French or sourdough bread |
1/2 | cup | butter, melted |
6–8 | cloves | garlic, crushed |
1 | cup | Parmesan cheese, grated |
2 | tablespoons | sesame seeds |
1. Slice the bread into 3/4” slices.
2. Melt the butter.
3. Add the garlic to the butter and mix well.
4. Brush one side of each bread slice with the butter-garlic mixture and arrange the slices butter-side-up on a baking sheet.
5. Sprinkle the Parmesan on top of the bread.
6. Sprinkle the sesame seeds over the cheese and broil until golden. (Watch the bread closely as it can burn in a flash!)
