Buttercream Frosting

Intensely chocolate with a whiff of cinnamon, this frosting is the ideal match for moist chocolate Guinness cake.

Ingredients

2/3 cup butter
1 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
1/2 cup milk
Directions
  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan.
  2. Whisk in the cocoa, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  3. Place the mixture in the bowl of a stand mixer and set to low speed.
  4. Alternately add the sugar and milk, being sure to scrape the bowl as you go.

 

Preparation Time: 
Approximately 7–10 minutes.
