This recipe makes a batch of enormous cookies, perfect for giving. It can easily be cut in half as well.

1/2 | pound | butter |
1 1/2 | pounds | creamy peanut butter (not natural-style) |

1 | tablespoon | vanilla |
1 1/4 | tablespoons | baking soda |
1/4 | teaspoon | salt |
3/4 | cup | oat flour or finely ground oats* |
9 | cups | rolled oats (not quick oats) |
8 | ounces (1 1/2 cups) |
red and green chocolate candies (M&M’s) |
8 | ounces (1 1/2 cups) |
chocolate chips |
*Oat flour is available in some supermarkets. If you have trouble finding it, blitz rolled oats in your food processor until finely ground. |
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease or line baking sheets with parchment paper.
1. In a very large bowl or stockpot cream together sugar and butter with an electric mixer.
2. Add peanut butter and mix thoroughly.
3. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
4. Add soda, salt and oat flour.
5. Using hands or a large spoon mix in rolled oats, followed by the candy and chocolate chips.
6. Drop by leveled, 2 1/4-inch ice cream scoop onto ungreased cookie sheets, six cookies per sheet, and bake for 12 minutes until just browned around the edges. Do not overbake.
Store at room temperature in an airtight container or freeze
