Honey and lime add a subtle boost of flavor to this salad, without overpowering the fruit’s natural character.
| 1 | fresh, ripe pineapple, cubed* | |
| 4 | oranges, segmented | |
| 2 | kiwis, peeled and sliced** | |
| 3 | bananas, sliced | |
| 1 | pint | strawberries, slices |
| 2 | tablespoons | clover honey |
| 2 | tablespoons | freshly squeezed lime juice |
| *Substitute canned pineapple chunks if the fresh fruit is unavailable.**I like to break-up the colors with green fruit. If kiwi’s are unavailable, try green grapes cut in half.
|
- Combine the pineapple, oranges, kiwis, bananas, and strawberries in a spacious bowl. Be sure to include all of the juice from the pineapple and oranges.
- Whisk together the honey and lime juice in a small bowl. Pour the mixture over the fruit and mix well.
- Cover and refrigerate for several hours so that the flavors meld. Remove the tropical salad from the fridge 20 minutes before serving for best flavor.
- Immediately before serving, stir to distribute the juices.
