
Enjoy these bacon-wrapped treats as a salty-sweet appetizer or opening to any meal. Popular in many restaurants, poppers are a breeze to make at home and will leave the whole family wanting more.



12 | jalapeño peppers, halved and seeded with ribs removed | |
~6 | ounces | cream cheese, room temperature* |
12 | dates, pitted and halved | |
12 | bacon strips, halved and at room temperature |
*The amount of cream cheese varies with the size of the peppers.
Preheat oven to 450°F.
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
Have toothpicks ready for securing the bacon.
- Fill each jalapeño half with about ¼ ounce of cream cheese.
- Place half of date into the cream cheese.
- Starting at the top of the jalapeño, wrap the bacon strip around the pepper. Gently press the bacon into the pepper. Secure the bacon by inserting a toothpick through the center of the pepper. Repeat process until all jalapeños are filled.
- Place rolled poppers on the baking sheet, leaving room between them.
- Set baking sheet on the top rack of oven and cook for 18–20 minutes or until bacon is cooked and slightly crisp.
- Remove from the oven and let poppers cool for 10 minutes.
- Plate and serve.
