While packaged cold cuts are fine, I much prefer the flavor of ingredients at the deli and homemade Thousand Island dressing. Save prep time and have the butcher cut your pepperoni, ham, and cheese paper-thin.
~2 | tablespoons | Thousand Island Dressing |
2 | slices | French bread |
2 | slices | Swiss cheese, thinly sliced |
4 | slices | Black Forest ham, thinly sliced |
10–12 | slices | pepperoni, thinly sliced |
1 | small | tomato, thinly sliced |
~2 | tablespoons | sliced black olives |
~ | salt | |
~ | freshly ground black pepper |
1. Spread the Thousand Island dressing on the inside of both pieces of bread.
2. Create a filling packet containing the cheese, ham, and pepperoni.
3. Place the packet on top of one slice of the bread, cover it with the second slice, and heat in the microwave for approximately 45 seconds, or until warm.
4. Take the sandwich from the microwave and remove the top slice of bread. Place the tomatoes, olives, salt, and pepper on top of it, and re-place the other slice of bread on top.
5. Take a knife and slice in half for easy eating.
